Traceability

Traceability is a pre-established group of norms and proceedings which permit the association of information to the product in each stage of the production and trading processes in order to find out at a certain moment, by means of technologic tools, the history, location and the different phases of products or lots along the supply chain. Taking into account the information given, two spheres of traceability can be established:

Monitoring (forward)

It is the ability to identify and place along the supply chain the rest of the lots that have the same characteristics than the one given.

Tracking (backward)

It is the ability to identify exactly the origin of each of the components of a certain lot and the different stages through which the product has passed in the production processes and/or trading chain.

What is this practice for?

Internally

If any problem is detected in one of the stages of the production chain, it is useful to obtain information about fruit origin, the treatment given in the field, its transport to the packing plants, its elaboration process, its location and different stages it went through to finally become a marketable product. Through this information the company can correct any deviation and take the necessary actions to avoid the occurrence of the same problem and to improve our systems.

For the client

Even if the company employs the available tools to ensure its products' innocuity, implementing the Good Agricultural Practices (EUREP GAP), of Manufacturing and HACCP if any claim should arise, it is useful to obtain the appropriate information quick and precisely to obtain an efficient answer.

Recall

The company has Recall or Product recovery proceedings which allow the product, through the traceability system, to be tracked quickly and, if necessary actions to be taken to protect the consumer.
